Job Description

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – Medical Surgical 3S

Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12×3, 36 hours per week, EOW

Length: 13-26 weeks

Must be able to work holidays
Call required if put on call prescheduled shift

Requirements:

  • NC License
  • 2 year of experience required in last 5 years
  • Epic documentation experience required
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Management of drips, CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries preferred

  • Must be able to take heparin drips
  • Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding

Management of dysrhythmias, O2 Protocol Management, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral line care/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Traumatic Brain injury, ortho trauma, surgucal drains, chest tubes- Emerson/Pleuravac, Nasal Cannula, Oral Suctioning, Tracheostomy Management, Wound care. *Epic documentation experience required.Certs: BLS

JOB DETAILS:Target Ratios: 1:6-7 (Must be comfortable with these ratios)Shift: 12HR NIGHT. 36 Will accept 13-26 week contracts.
**Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holdingWeekend Requirement: Traveler will be assigned to every other weekendHoliday Requirement: Must be able to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
PATIENT DIAGNOSES:Severe injury to the bones, joints, and/or soft tissue. Traumatic brain injuries. Spine injuries, pain. Neurological trauma/nerve damage (small population). Subdural hematoma.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication):Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
UNIT ORIENTATION:12 hour unit orientation. 16 hour organizational education.
SCRUBS:Navy
