Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – Medical Surgical 9S

Shift: Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12×3, 36 hours per week, EOW

Length: 13-26 weeks

Must be able to work holidays
Call required if put on call prescheduled shift

Requirements:

  • NC License
  • 1 year experience
  • EPIC experience
  • Must be able to take insulin and heparin drips
  • BLS
  • CPI preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
Other Details:

  • Accepts 1st time Traveler
  • Charge role is required for night travelers
  • Possibly of taking care of COVID patients
  • Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding

JOB DETAILS:Target Ratios: 1:6-7Shift: 12HR NIGHTS. 36 hours. Will accept 13-26 week contracts. Charge role is required for night travelers.RTO: 7 days MAX; NO RTO 4/29-5/17/24Call Requirement: Call required if put on call prescheduled shift.Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding.Weekend Requirement: Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend*Must be able to work holidays*possibly of taking care of COVID patients.*Traveler will be assigned to a Inclement Weather Team.
** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
PATIENT DIAGNOSES:Adults and geriatrics. General Med/Surg Patients. Daily census ~43.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:Insulin DripsHeparin DripsWound Vac Drsg ChangesHigh Flow OxygenWe occasionally have limited short term BiPap with respiratory support. No additional training needed. Appropriate for all med/surg nurses. No PCU level patients on this unit.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication):PYXIS EPIC, SBARSCHEDULING TYPE:Unit Needs + Preferences relayed to managementUNIT ORIENTATION:24 hrs.SCRUBS:Navy*** INTERNAL NOTES ***Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
