Shift: Nights, 7p-7a, 12×4, 48hrs per week, EOW

Unit Info:PAH’s CVICU is a 42 bed ICU specializing in open heart surgery averaging 6-8 bypass pump surgical cases per day as well as post surgical heart transplants and LVAD. CVICU contract nurse requires immediate post open heart surgical admission experience as well as experience with Swan Ganz catheters, utilizing the manual thermodilution syringe to calculate the Cardiac Index, and epicardial and transvenous pacing wire experience. Common bedside procedures include assisting with the care of patient during bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, central line insertions, arterial line and swan ganz catheter line insertions.
HOLIDAYS:If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
