Infectious Disease and Secure Unit Number of Beds: 25 beds on C4, 10 beds on C3W
The Infectious Disease Medical Unit is an interdisciplinary specialty unit. Patients may be acutely, chronically, or terminally ill. It is a medical surgical unit with a primary focus on infectious disease (ID). Patients that are admitted to the ID service or patients requiring any type of isolation that cannot be maintained on other units as well as any adult general medical patient who does not require a specialty unit may be admitted to C4. C4 is equipped with negative airflow making them suitable for patients with communicable diseases.
The Secure Unit is an interdisciplinary unit. Patients may be acutely, chronically, or terminally ill and are guarded on the unit on a 24x7 basis by the NYS Department of Corrections and Community and Supervision and/or Albany County law enforcement. Albany County male incarcerated individuals may also be housed on C3W if space is available. C3W is equipped with negative airflow making them suitable for patients with communicable diseases. Medical patients include oncology, HIV, renal, and pulmonary. Surgery patients include ortho, plastics, vascular, and cardiac. Any DOCCS incarcerated individual that is not in the ICU or a step-down unit is housed on C3W.

Will also accept: 18 months+ of experience (LTAC/Rehab okay) with at least 6 months of MedSurg (prefers MS to be recent)
