General Information:
Beds: 67 Beds in the ED – MS Holds beds will be allocated
Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? Yes
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes with at least 2 years’ experience and Cerner OR EPIC (EMR) experience with level II Trauma Experience
Patient Types:
CHF exacerbation, TIA vs. CVA rule out, GI/GU, weakness/dizziness, chest pain
Patient Ratios:
1:5
Required Licensure & Certifications:
BLS, NIHSS, CPI or similar required, ACLS preferred,
Skills required:
ED experience not required, preferred. This will be a MS assignment.
Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills. IV starts, blood administrations. Teaching facility experience preferred.
Suctioning, O2 Therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, External catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, falls prevention management, restraints
Will be in the ER area but caring for Med Surg patients with admission orders.
Important to realize the needs during transitions from ER to MS inpatient

Orientation:
Travelers who are new to the facility or return travelers who have been gone for 1+ years will have 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit
Rehires: orientation will depend on last date here
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month if on block schedule
On call? No
Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
Holiday Expectations: This does not mean they will automatically be scheduled for those dates, but we will not contractually guarantee to being off prior to arrival.
