Patient Types:
Long-term traches with Vents, covid, trauma, sepsis, stroke, stable craniotomies (coils or clips)
Cardiac and Medical patients; Post-op General Surgery or Trauma s/p cardiac cath, s/p ablation, 24h post op TAVR, STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFIB with RVR, Sepsis, COPD, ETOH withdrawal, IVDA, COVID, PNA, Respiratory Failure requiring Bipap or High Flow O2
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:3-4 (Days & Nights)
Tech: 1:6 (Days & Nights)
Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
AACCN (preferred)
PCU level RN/skillset
Please ask all travelers about charge experience and include in the offer info if they have/have not worked in a CRN capacity
Experience with trached patients on vents (need to know how to administer 100% FiO2 via suction support and silence alarms) Trach care, trach suctioning (RT will educate), Stroke patients, Q2H neuro checks, post stable craniotomy experience (will take the candidate if they do not have crani experience but are comfortable caring for this patient type and are confident in neuro checks), Highflow O2, Trauma patient experience
Chest tubes, Wound Vacs/VAC dressing changes, Bipap, non-titrating vasoactive or antiarrhythmic drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, temporary pacemakers, TR bands, post femoral sheath care, insulin drips, general drain/ostomy care, IV starts
CNA (Ratio 1:6 )
Charge nurse – may have patients if needed
Phlebotomy
Resource Nurse 24/7 ICU trained
RT 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7
Trauma surgery monitors own patients
PT/OT M-F
IV/VAT Team: Yes, for US guided IV’s and PICC/Midline placement; RN will start their own PIV’s
Cerner
Alaris IV pumps
Pyxis medication dispensing
GE Monitors
Float to ED, ICU, CCU if there is an intermediate assignment in one of those departments
CCU patient types (CHF, STEMI, NSTEMI, etc.)

May be placed on Low Census Call back
