Travel Medsurg RN is needed for 13 weeks to start ASAP in a facility in Vermont. One year acute care experience preferred. Current Vermont RN licensure required. ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required. Shifts are 7-7. Three 12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week includes every other weekend. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the coordination of total patient care needs for the medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed patients, and pediatric patients on Med/Surg/Pedi. As a valued member of the AICU Float nursing team, you will care for patients with a wide range of conditions including complex cases. This role is perfect for passionate caregivers who want to experience cutting edge technologies and top notch patient care models.

We are a 42 Bed ICU, although we attempt to segregate different patient populations, it does not always work out that way, so you could easily have a GI bleed in one bed and a V.Cath or TPA patient in the other. Our ratio is 2:1 or 1:1 depending on patient acuity. Our assignments are re-evaluated on a 4-hour basis, if not sooner, to assure nurse and patient safety. We need someone who is able to make quick decisions on their feet, someone who is detail oriented, but able to see the bigger picture Someone who is eager and enthusiastic about work, someone who has integrity, and able to self-report mistakes or errors without fear of being reprimanded. This is an extremely fast paced environment, so we need someone with strong assessment and clinical skills. We have great cooperation and RN to RN interactions here, especially on night shift. We do multi-disciplinary rounds every day and the nurse plays a major role in this. There are Attendings, Fellows, Residents, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practioners available on the unit at all times, as well as Respiratory Therapists. We also have access in every room to the eICU – Electronic ICU, which can be an extra set of critical care experienced RN eyes or someone to ask questions. Our team is set composed of an Operations Manager – 5 Team Coordinators (charge nurses) – 2 Nurse educators – 6 Clinicians (who work right along side of everyone, unit leaders)

This department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site, the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However, the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and it's services (i.e. Trauma registry, trauma coordinators) should not be included here.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least one year Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12 months or EMT and ED Tech with a minimum of 2 years experience & in good standing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Evidence of current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: MICN desired to be completed within one year of hire.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: MICN, NRP, TNCC, and CEN encouraged and recommended.
