Job Description

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – PCU/Tele Cardiac

Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12×3, 36hrs per week
Length: 13 weeks

Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)

Requirements:

  • NC License
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required
  • May screen if 1.5 year of CVICU experience in a large facility
  • UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Charge Experience preferred

Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuityShift: NIGHT 3×12-Hour 36 hours. ** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
SCHEDULING TYPE: Self
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours
SCRUBS: Navy
