PATIENT DIAGNOSES: The 1st floor Intermediate Critical Care Unit is an exciting 20-bed unit that exists to provide specialized care for patients with potentially life-threatening health problems that include but are not limited to: Unstable hemodynamics; Surgical patients; Neurological complications; Detox/withdrawal; Respiratory distress requiring non-invasive respiratory support; Titration of selected vasoactive medications. SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: ***The unit is now taking COVID-19 patients and travelers will be expected to care for them. Only one pressor drip per patient, anymore and they’re transferred to ICU. Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo drips given on unit. Our ICCU manages titratable drips, non-invasive ventilation, intermediate protocols so candidates should have this experience.
