Can I bring my family on a travel assignment? Yes, you can bring your family, and/or your pet with you on most travel assignments.

 How do the pay and benefits for a travel nurse measure up? Travel nursing pays very well in most cases. Travel nurses are in high demand in the market today. And, there are great benefits too such as: housing stipends or some companies provide housing, as well as bonuses available. Of course, your compensation will be based on skill level, your specialty and the facility you work in. That is all negotiated up front with your recruiter so there are no surprises.

Can I travel with a friend who is also a nurse? Yes, there are many instances of travel nurses teaming up and getting assignments together. You can share expenses and housing that way.

Can I choose where my assignment will be? In most cases, the answer is yes. Depending on your specialty and experience, the choice will most likely be yours. Your ultimate desired location may not be available right away but in the meantime you could try a few short assignments close to home and see how it works out. That way, when your desired destination does become available you are already on the right track. And your recruiter will be sure to keep an eye out for the place you are looking for.
