ED RN’s Most Wanted

Emergency Departments and Trauma Centers across the country are in dire need of RN’s. There is a nursing shortage in all departments but most critically hit has been our country’s hospital emergency rooms.

Travel nurses used to make up about 3-4% of the country’s nursing staff overall. That figure has moved upward to between 8-10% now with all the shortages. Many nurses have found the lucrative opportunities available to travel nurses to be worthwhile and are leaving their stable jobs in hometowns to cash in on the windfall.

We have heard of some RN contracts being offered up to $8000 per week. Florida, Texas and California are among the states with the most available positions for qualified RN’s.

Another statistic behind the current shortages is the fact that some have chosen to retire early or find something else to do so as not to be exposed to the never-ending virus and its complications. Vaccine mandates are also pushing some people out. This has led to even more demand for temporary or travel nurses.

As of the writing of this blog there are some 30,000 positions open for travel nurses nationwide. Maybe it’s time for you to take advantage of the opportunities available.
