If you want to remember something you read, read it right before going to bed. Material you read right before bed will help you retain it better.

When you are experiencing a migraine try putting your hands in ice water and flex them to ease the headache pain.

Dab a bit of apple cider vinegar on a mosquito bite and it will help stop the itch.

When you are all done with your shower make the water cold. Cold water will seal your pores and keep bacteria and dirt from getting in. This can help prevent acne.

If you have a toothache rub ice between your thumb and forefinger and it can help reduce the pain by up to 50%.

Pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth can help alleviate brain freeze.

If you hold your breath for as long as you can then release it can help you fight off sleepiness..

Blowing on your thumb can reduce your heart rate.

Tuck your thumb into your fist and grip it tightly to help prevent gagging.

Keep your eyes wide open and don't blink to prevent crying.

An onion beside your bed when you go to sleep can help reduce stuffiness and help you breathe easier.

Quick sore throat soother is marshmallows.

Scratching your ear can help with a tickle in your throat.

If you feel dizzy when you lay down, put one foot on the ground. It can help your brain recalculate.

How about the fact that your right ear is better at hearing words and your left ear is better with music and other sounds.

You can separate drinking glasses when they are stuck together by putting cold water in the top glass and then place the lower glass in warm water.

To revive cut flowers you can put the stems in hot water and let them stay there until the water cools. Then trim the ends and put them back in cold water as you normally would.

Add a pinch of sugar and a pinch of salt when you boil potatoes. When the potatoes are done pour the water out and replace over heat source and shake the pan a little to dry the potatoes.

To preserve a valuable vase, fill the bottom with sand to make it weigh more so it won't be tip over easily.

A soft damp cloth works best for cleaning up broken glass. Use an old rag if you have one and that way it can be thrown away with the glass.

An easy way to extract a splinter? Fill a wide mouthed bottle with hot water almost to top and then press affected hand tightly against the mouth of the bottle. The suction will pull down the skin and the steam will draw the splinter out.

You can boil a cracked egg by adding a little vinegar to the water. It should boil like normal and not leak contents after adding vinegar.

You can make your shoes or other item waterproof by coating them with Bees Wax.

If you take a picture of a business card you will still have the info in your phone should the card disappear.

Keep an emergency info card in your wallet or your purse that has medical contact information, blood type and allergies listed just in case.

Christmas decorations can be stored easily in egg cartons.

For a great cookbook holder in the kitchen use a pants hanger. Clip the book or recipe in and then hang it on the cabinet.

Just a few great little tips and tricks I found that can help many of us out, especially the busy healthcare traveler and/or travel nurse. I don't know about you, but I'm always looking for helpful tips to make life a little easier.
