Take A Walk – No Really…..

Such an easy thing to do, and yet many of us don’t walk enough. Walking is beneficial to you and your health in so many ways. Even a quick five minute walk, especially if you can get outdoors, can do wonders.

Walking will improve your circulation by bringing the heart rate up a bit and lowering your blood pressure. So that mean, yep, it’s good for your heart.

A brisk walk can improve your mood right away and it could even help you enjoy more restful sleep. I personally love to get out in the sunshine and walk for an hour if possible. Some days it’s just too cold this time of year but whenever I’m down a walk will always improve my attitude.

Walking helps strengthen your muscles and support your joints as well.

If you can get outside, and even better, in nature, the benefits can more than double. Breathing the air in nature is very good for you and provides negative ions that you normally don’t get in your everyday environment. Of course, if you are close to a beach, lucky you! Put your tennis shoes on and get moving.

Moving your body is one of the best ways to boost your immune system and improve your health and attitude. And walking is an easy stress free way to move your body.

So, let’s get out there and take a walk. You have to take care of yourself in order to take care of your patients to the best of your ability! Be safe and keep moving.
